Ignite 2in1 bibs ordered last night here too. Had medium in basket but then went looking for reviews and sizing advice, and they’d sold out in the meantime – liam1972, I’m looking at you! Large ordered, given severe lockdown weight gain, but I’m a 5’8 shortarse, so think these may end up going back. Waist size may be spot on though, we’ll see. Wish I’d stuck a Light gilet in the basket too, as looked a nice bit of kit.

Not my fault, XL for me

Anyone know if the 2 in 1 bib shorts play would fit nicely with slim knee pads for occasional gnar? Cant find an inseam length listed

Any ladies tried their stuff? Thinking of buying a couple of bit for my mother’s birthday but as a couple of months away there is a mild risk with sizing. Just trying to equate their sizes to tradition 8/10/12/14 UK female sizing.

Hi Dusterbenny, I responded to your PM also.

I haven't put them on again, but just measuring on kitchen table, the inseam of the outer short seems to be about 12.5", and the inner measures approx 6.5". I guess they're designed so the outer sits over your pads but the inner sits above?

Hope that helps

Has anyone's Aussie Grit order arrived yet? Mine seems to have been stuck at "dispatched to post office" stage for a few days now. Was hoping to have them for a ride on Friday,as having a rare day off...

@luv2ride

I placed an order last week that finally arrived today, from Saturday until late yesterday the tracking was showing “at Home Counties MC North” “ we expect to deliver your item today”

Arrived safely today but glad I read about their sizing!

The post office tracking for my order says "The sender has advised they’ve despatched your item to us." Been that way since very early Monday. The Aussie Grit tracking still says that they're getting it ready. No doubt had a spike in orders from their sale so maybe slowing things down. Benn spoiled by Merlin Cycles still getting orders out in a couple 9f days, and CRC have been fast on deliveries too over the past week or two

@Modchop - whats the view on the sizing then, now you received the item? Views suggest real world sizing, apart from the gilets that size a little smaller?

Wish I had seen posts about sizing before ordering. Gilet is definitely on the snug side!

Bib shorts are awesome as well made as any kit I've tried, and the madison of old type perfect phone pocket on the thigh. Love the gilet, ordered a pair of the non bib shorts too, another gilet and some stuff for the wife, not despatched yet, but I'm in no rush.

My last delivery took over a week to arrive and my latest is somewhere after the despatched stage. I’d say there’s nothing to worry about and it’s just one of those things we need to expect at the moment.

Oh bum, my Large gilet order cancelled yesterday (ordered Sat night).

Oh well, will keep an eye out for further sales.

If anyone finds their large gilet a little too snug/big and want rid, I'd be interested.

I've bought stuff from them and it took a while to arrive. Good quality kit though.

However, a couple of things grate with me. A few weeks ago the Flint shell was advertised as £200 retail, reduced to £100 and then £50 with the 50% discount at the time. Now its advertised as reduced from £99 retail. It's just a bit dodgy round pricing.

Also, the product reviews duplicate. So there's an identical one for the running t-shirt and the long sleeve running top, and for the latter there's also a review that is obviously for a jacket. Not sure if deliberate or not, but just seems a bit odd for a company/products that are sold as sophisticated and all about attention to detail..

Just used the shorts and gilet in anger - it's really good quality kit. The medium gilet feels quite snug on my post-lockdown lard, though. 🙂

@luv2ride

Most of my jackets are either large or extra large, I went with extra extra large going from AG’s size charts and glad I did.

I got the Flint bike shell and light gilet. The shell is spot on but the gilet is snug, even in XXL, I’m a 44” chest so big but certainly not huge. I’m undecided about the gilet currently, it’s not restrictively snug but I’m used to something less fitted. Can’t fault the quality from first impressions and both items are incredibly light, particularly the gilet which given its name I guess it should be.

43" chest here and Large gilet fits perfectly. Ordered another, in black this time, as I'll use em biking and running.

Worn (and washed) my Ignite bibs almost every day for the last 2 weeks and they are now getting comfy and still look like they just came out of the packet. I paid £90 quid for them literally just before they went down to £50 but even at that price they were a good buy. Wore my Flint  shorts this morning on a quick mtb ride before work and they are just as good with a bit more protection as the material is heavier - for £39 they are an absolute bargain.

Gilets need to be snug to work properly and can be worn under shells in proper bad weather - I haven't worn my new light one yet but the thermal gilet I bought at the beginning of the 50% sale got worn for almost every ride during spring when it was 5 degrees at the start of a ride and rapidly became a favourite bit of kit.

I hope they aren't closing down

@stevie750 I had the same, but I'm in Leeds, which is somewhat further from Inverness! At least my order actually exists. It was dispatched on Monday and wasn't showing anything at all on the tracker until today.

Another pair of shorts came today, the ones without the bib part this time. They're very good quality, so much better than the fox rangers I bought last week.

I think they'll be getting sold tbh.

To be fair, there were over 500 numbers of difference from my order on 29th and 1st, so they've been rather busy, and royal mail are stretched too.

My stuff turned up today. Possibly could have gone for a smaller size in the shorts but I'm sure they'll be fine. Ordered socks to get the postage and pleased I did, they look quality.

My stuff just turned up. The light gilet is really nice and fits me perfectly. I'm a bang-on "dhb medium". 75kg 5'10", slim but not thin.

The shell is a weird fit though - decent length in the body and arms but really boxy. After ruling it out for the bike I thought about using it for walking in the rain but it still looks a little odd for that. Nice colour and fabric though. I'll be returning it.

My stuff turned up today after its little holiday to Inversnecky.

Wore the jersey, thermal gilet and shell for a 40km gravel spin in, ahem, 'variable' weather, and they were grand. Bit too warm as a combo when the sun finally poked its head out, but bloody good otherwise!

This has to be one of the best ever PSA's, bought the 2 in 1 ignite bib shorts at an eye watering £90 , but when they dropped to £50 I just had to have another pair they are that good, arrived this morning after a tour of britain , but hey ho well packed and pretty as a picture, top marks OP and of course Mark Webber, it's good kit. Would love a Flint Soft shell in the orange but sold out in my size , boo.

Wow. The Ignite 2 in 1 bibs arrived this morning and I wore them on a ride this afternoon; immensely comfortable. I had ordered the gilet too but that was cancelled off the order but I still got free delivery.

If anyone has the XL and finds them too big I'll take them off your hands!

Flint mtb shorts turned up yesterday. Very impressed with the fit, design and quality. No way I’d pay rrp but for £40 they’re an absolute bargain.

Went on to check for some ignite bibs but website down...

Edit- back up now. Probably my rubbish old browser

Their web-site has been hit and miss for over a week. I think the sale is pushing over the edge.

I got the mob shorts and a top. Lovely stuff for the price.

Now my wife has seen my kit she wants in on the action....

Does anyone know how the female range sizes up relative to normal uk sizes 8,10,12 etc?  Specifically the Quartz shorts and 3/4 running tights

As an aside it never ceases to amaze me that people go to the trouble of writing a review and hardly ever put sizing info up. There are 10 reviews for the 3/4 tights and none of them say anything useful!

My wife is a size 8, the xs gilet fits her perfectly.

I never check reviews for sizing, the AG site gives measurements for size, I used that.

my Flint shell arrived today. Really impressed. Got it in the latest round of discount for £35. really nicely cut. Size large - which i would be in normal (non-cycle) clothing. materials feel good quality, neat, taped seems. No vents so it might be a bit hot. Material looks to be pretty breathable stretch stuff. it will probably be used on the road bike in winter. only downside is that it doesn't pack down very small.....although small enough roiled up to fit into rear packet of a roadie jersey.

My light gilet arrived in France today, size large, perfect for my 40inch chest and 6ft height. Shame about the 5 extra pounds that went on in lockdown, but once they're lost the zip won't be under so much strain.

Other half's gilets worked out great too, size medium for a size 10/12.

Very happy with the quality and amazed at the price.

Thanks to the OP for doing the PSA.

Bit gutted here to be honest. Missed this thread until most of the men’s stuff had sold out. Managed to pick up the shell and the wife got a load of stuff. Arrived today and it looks absolute quality.

I’d be all over the bike kit if any was left, particularly the flint shorts and light gilet. Wife is grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

OK, slightly embarrassing confession but I got a thermal and light gillet in XSmall Womens.

Not part of a new cross dressing initiative but I was advised by Aussie Grit that they might fit me better as I am tiny. Nice and snug but flairs a little on the bottom and so the waist isn't as tight as I'd like. Is this how they are (maybe as they need to stretch over jersey pockets which might be full?) or is it for the fairer sex's hips? Blitz, can you ask Mrs Blitz for any pointers!

If only they'd had it in pink......

Yep, Mrs blitz has a small gilet and it sits snug over the hips. She reckons all of it is the best fitting stuff she’s had. Guess it’s cut that way for the fairer sex as you say.

My second order from them arrived today and, again, I'm immensely pleased. The flint shell jacket is outstandingly well designed and made and an absolute bargain at £35, the XL fits me perfectly. Also ordered a merino beanie and some socks to get free delivery but they were worth getting in any case.

As someone above has said, thanks again to the OP @LeeW

SubjectiSubjective question but how tight should the shorts be?
I ordered the bib, MTB and running shorts in size small (I’m about a 31” waist which is half an inch more than pre-lockdown!) and they all feel a bit snug.
I haven’t worn bibs before and I am very aware of straps on my shoulders.

You won't notice the straps on the bike, as you're kinda hunched over, all my bibs are like that, feel tighter when stood upright.

Honestly I just figured the prices looked so good because the RRPs were artificially high, e.g. bibs were great but no WAY were they worth £180 retail.

How long have they been around, have they been selling at RRP for a while now?

I hope they're not closing, as you say mibbe not worth 180 quid, but I got a pair of Fox Ranger shorts the week before for 52 quid, and the AG shorts are a league above in terms of quality.

I reckon I'd pay 100 quid for them, now that I know how good they are.

They have been around since 2018 from what I can see so not very long.

I just don't think they had the name or marketing prescence to command such high prices, however if the same stuff had a Rapha, castelli or other well known brand name i'm sure people would be very happy with the kit. Its top notch quality and design but with one or two odd fitment quirks which a brand like castelli or assos wouldn't let out the door.

I bought a pair of the 2 in 1 bibs for 90 quid before they dropped the price and I am more than happy with them at that price.  I now have pretty much 1 item of all the kit and so does my wife. she reckons the 3/4 running tights are the best she has ever seen.

Bought an XL Light Gilet on eBay yesterday, brand new with tags, for £24 posted - was genuinely surprised to find that I was the sole bidder. Also have another pair of XL bibshorts on the way... I think I've bought enough Aussie Grit bike wear to keep me going for a year or two!

It does seem to me that the sale is the end of the company, which is a shame. I bagged a pair of Ignite 2in1 bib shorts and the light gilet and have worn them over the past few days and I have been extremely impressed.

Hopefully, they will be lauching new lines but I fear that the prices are indicative that they're closing down.

When I emailed them to ask if by any chance they had any XL bibshorts returned as they didn't fit (they did, so I bit their hands off!) I asked if the sale meant the end of them in the UK and this was what they said:

"Good questions regarding Aussie Grit Apparel; at the moment it’s a case of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” regarding the sale, and we’re busy planning for the future."

If anyone's after Large bibshorts or ladies gilet there's one of each on eBay, new.

Had a feeling folk might be doing that... :-/

I could happily pay for letting them break even after eBay takes commission, maybe a bit more... depends what they're worth too you I guess. They are bloody good shorts, mind.

I just checked my credit card statement - I appear to have spent slightly more than £400 on Aussie Grit since the 50% sale started..........That is for me and the mrs though.

The only piece I'm slightly dissapointed with is the mtb jacket - why do 'upmarket' cycle companies insist on offset zips? All it means is that when you have them slightly unzipped the larger offset bit flaps around in your face rather than falling naturally to the side like a central zip, Its not just the AG jacket that does this but its a pain in what is otherwise a great bit of kit.

Strange, you rejected paying £75 for the pair I offered you that I'd tried on for size and felt were a bit on the big side. I've worn them on the bike now for about an hour and they've been washed on cold non bio cycle so still look like new, still interested?
Edit, I paid £90 for mine and was very happy that I'd got good value.
