This looks like a good set of 29er wheels at a great price:

they aren't light, they are sort of cheap. I wonder if they are strong...

2kg for a pair of enduro wheels isn't bad?

Not bad at all for £180. No rim tape required either.

very tempting... centrelock though so would need adaptors which bumps cost

Light/Cheap/Strong - pick any 2.

But for £180 for a non boost set of 30mm ID wheels they're not bad.

Probably a tad lighter than the wheelset I'm due to build, XM481 on hope pro 4 front and Pinion H2R rear hubs, definitely not as strong though!

Yep, that's a nice deal for a centrelock-loving non-boost bike owner.

2kg is comfortably on par for those kind of wheels IMO.

I am tempted to get a set for my karate monkey as they come with QR adaptors too but I probably should stick with the shonky set I've currently got.

Anyone recognise the hubs? They remind me of my old WTB Strykers which I think were the same as some Ringle wheels, and were pretty decent. Basically whether the wheels are a good buy or not is going to be down to how servicable/reliable the hubs are.

But I think there must be a fair bit of weight tucked away there considering the rim vs total weight?

Ooh, I was very tempted, but that weight is a bit too much for me, now I'm old and weak. Great PSA though. I've got a set of centrelocks spare if anyone does buy the wheels and is interested 🙂

If the rims are 460g then those must be some hefty hubs.

My XM481 build with 525g rims, 210g of spokes/nipples per wheel, and a 188g hope pro 4 front and a heavy 370g pinion rear (steel) hub should be 2030g total. These have 130g lighter rims yet are the same weight.

I have a set and they are great for the money, I'd have another set if these blow up. They have survived some very clumsy riding from me and are still perfectly true.

They have been 180 and then 190 for 4 or so years, mine are about 3 and a half years old and its what I paid.
