Finally made me pull the trigger on the OneUp EDC pump and tools.
Unfortunately dropper posts are not included.
Thanks, pump and tools ordered!
Thanks, pushed me over the edge to get the tool.
Are they worth it? i.e do they work well and last a few years? I'm tempted to go for the 100cc pump and V2 tool. I was also looking at the Wolf Tooth Encase but rather like being able to swap easily between bikes.
Even £95 is a lot for a tool I basically have already and a nice pump but they do look like quite a compelling little unit
Also, does anyone know if you can get a Peaty Holeshot in the capsule?
Am I right in thinking that the 'pump' is just a storage for a CO2 canister and the chuck to join canister to valve? Or is it a pump that also doubles as a storage solution, so you can use it as an actual pump once you've removed the stuff that it is carrying?
Thanks 🙂
Would someone be able to tell me the first part of the email subject or sender when you purchase? I'm trying to find the email receipt for my handlebar and can I find it anywhere on various email accounts??? No. Should have registered on the site so it was in my order history!
Is it a pump that also doubles as a storage solution, so you can use it as an actual pump once you’ve removed the stuff that it is carrying?
It most certainly is.
I would have been tempted but I hate using pumps you have to hold onto the valve.
My friend has the pump. It’s exceptionally good. Has even apparently reseated a burped tyre with it.
I have the headset tool. Well made and seems to last. If you have more than one bike the headset/carrier is available separately so you only need to buy one tool. When I got mine it was the only brand that allowed this, not sure if it’s still the case. For two bikes that means it was ~even cost to some of the others. 3 or more bikes and it works out cheapest.
The pump is a fantastic bit of kit.
Push it on and it stays on on its own no need to keep downward pressure on it to keep it on the valve.
I have the kit and love it
Took a while to figure out the system and get what I wanted
The tool goes into a threaded carrier or a threadless. They state that threadless doesn't work with the oval steerer on Fox forks, but I filed 0.1mm off front and back and it works a treat! The advantage then is the tool can fit a threadless on any bike otherwise you end up swapping washers and things around.
On my big bike I have the pump on the frame with a CO2 cannister and some worms/presta valve/tape/etc inside and the tool and small cannister in the threadless carrier. I made my own jabber using a CO2 cannister thread and epoxied a jabber in to it, rather than buy the OneUp.
I then got the 70 Oz pump which takes either a CO2 or the tool with the small cannister.
I run the tool in the pump on my hardtail or gravel bike.
It was expensive but really well thought out. I can swap it from bike to bike in seconds which is great, as I also choose packs (or no pack) depending on a ride.
Speaking of packs, my entire setup including mounts, tube and everything is half the weight of my old empty Osprey pack! So while it seems like a lot of stuff strapped to the bike, it's far lighter overall!
A couple of years ago I bought the whole shit and caboodle - 100cc pump, tool, chain link pliers, stabber. All have been used for the their designed purposes at various points, and all have performed well.
The chain breaker is not fun to use, but it does the job. The stabber is spot on, chain link pliers work very well, enough purchase even for a new shimano quick link (stiff!) and the storage tube hold the pliers, extra strips and stabber just screws into the middle.
Multi tool is extremely useful, but quite small, though seems good quality. Not tried the 8mm 'bit' of 2 other bits combined - anything with an 8mm head needs a fair bit of oomph so I don't trust it!
Pump is absolutely excellent, and the head works well for CO2 too.
Excellent bit of kit.
Only issue I've had is the rubber retainer for the frame mount perishes after about 12 months, so replacements are needed, but I have the frame mount on three bikes so makes sense to have some spares.
