In the past couple of months I’ve bought two Raleigh rear wheels. The wheels are OK if you only have a £60 budget but the skewers that come with them have both failed causing the wheels to fall out. The centre rod stretches giving the impression that the nut has worked loose, so you tighten it up and it stretches again. One wheel ended up jamming against the chain stay, the other fell out when I lifted the bike up. In both instances the rod showed evidence of stretching like a tensile test specimen.
So based on my limited sample but 100% failure rate I’d recommend that if you buy one of these wheels don’t use the skewer that comes with it.
I’ve told the LBS. Hopefully they will tell the supplier.
