The chap that drove into me back in April was due to attend court wednesday this week charged with driving without due care and attention. All I can find out from the rtc team is that a. He didnt attend b. Court is adjourned until Oct ( possibly for sentencing) & c. The court hearing result was 'proven in absence'.
I take it that means he was found guilty as charged... is this a correct assumption.

IANAL, but I think that the defendant could still appeal the verdict

They can still appeal conviction for a variety of reasons.
