So I don't usually post stuff like this but the thread on which spouse had a more expensive bike and a success last weekend made me think "what the heck"
A few forumites will know sweamrs from years ago. Here's a photo of her riding 10 years ago in the North downs. Having fun but nothing technical. A visit to Afan at the time found some of the trails "too hard".

And here's a photo of her riding a Black graded rock slab in British Columbia which I wouldn't have gone near either 10 years ago...

A few mishaps along the way but in 10 years she (and I) have progressed a huge amount. Moving to Canada probably helped a great deal as well. 😆
