I've two new bikes, neither have RideWrap or Invisifrane kits.
What's the roll of tape suggested for me to make my own?
I had some (supposedly) 3m tape from eBay but it's gine cloudy relatively quickly.
Are they frames they don't do at all, or just not your size? I've had good results modifying Invisiframe kits - either the specific ones or their Universal kits.
Otherwise, they do complete sheets - the XPEL stuff they use is easier to work with than 3M tape I've tried in the past which was a bit too thick.
A titanium frame works better for me.
I bought this stuff for my Camino
It went on really easily and stuck well. You can barely see it on the frame. I'm annoyed I didn't come a couple of bits more thoroughly with it, to be honest.
I brought the bike into the house, made paper templates and cut the stuff out with kitchen scissors.
I heated the frame and the tape with a hairdryer before applying and used a very weak solution of shampoo in a squirty bottle - like a couple of drops in the whole bottle. Sprayed it on the frame and then squeegeed it out once the tape was in place. I also used the hairdryer while pressing down the edges to make sure it was well stuck.
I used a universal Invisiframe kit for my Fatbike. That worked fine.Â
Been impressed with rolls from MTB Protex (on ebay) to make my own kit.
Seems thicker than either RideWrap or Invisiframe that i have used.
Been having my bikes invisframed since 2016, and still have the original bike & it still look fantastic . Though thetape has peeled slightly on some edges, if you want to be picky. I've dropped bike onto posts and had the invisframe save it, it's impressive stuff & I can't see a reason to look past it
Did my Scott Scale with the ridewrap universal kit and with a bit of extra cutting, its coverage is 90% as good as a custom kit. Plenty in the kit too, had loads spare.
