Anything on the market that protects the waist? Do those vest type things cover that area. Had an OTB and bashed just above my hip on a rock, so i'm not sure protective shorts would have helped.

I have a couple of pairs of these I use for rowdier rides and trips to BPW etc. They're not cheap but really well contructed and offer good protection in for the hip bones.
