I'm not sure if people are aware that there is a cut off to recording lost rights of way / upgrading rights of way on local authorities definitive maps. In a nutshell we have until 1st January 2026 to record tracks that may have been packhorse tracks, green lanes that are no longer on the local authorities definitive map

The British Horse Society have got a web portal to allow people to record tracks that they think should be recorded or upgraded for example Bridleways that suddenly become footpaths

Please visit the Peak District MTB website for an overview and links to the BHS site, the National Library of Scotland and Enclosure Maps. It is Derbyshire focused but you will get the general gist
