I'm considering getting new wheels and ProCore. Is it worth the hassle?
I am wondering if there is alot more drag riding around with 14psi v 18psi (the lower limit of non-procore wheels/tyres).
I probably won't swap tyres often on the bike I'll be fitting it to.
I spent some time looking into ProCore for my new bikes. After lots of reading and looking at competitors in Enduro / DH, I came to the conclusion that its mostly a solution looking for a problem.
Unless of course you race in rocky terrain all the time and cant stop to fix the one in a month pinch flat you might get.
Spend your money of something else.
I'm using all 3 methods atm, Procore, Deaneasy and ghetto using a road tub. Out of the 3, official Procore is a doddle to fit, the other 2 more hassle.
I race DH and gravity enduro and it's def a game changer as wouldn't dream of running pressures below 20psi prior. I now run 17.5 Fr and 18 rear whatever the terrain and grip is phenominal!
It's just me needing to get used to it is the problem as I haven't pushed it beyond it's limits at all.
For normal use, if you regularly pinch flat or burp tubeless then I'd recommend it, if you're getting by ok on tubeless at those pressures, then £100+ is better spent on good tyres and stans race fluid.
Thanks for the feedback 100mphplus. So you haven't tried running below 17 psi?
