I've changed the orientation of my levers and had to lengthen a hose. Both brakes worked fine before but after refitting everything I can't can't a good lever on one of them. I've tried bleeding from caliper up and from lever back.
When bleeding from caliper up the syringe is nearly impossible to move. When I eventually get a reasonable bleed the lever feel is terrible. I usually have a small bit of resistance free travel then a good bite point, but after bleed there's virtually no travel and lever feels solid so very hard to pull from the hoods. Not sure what's going on!
I recently followed the guide from the epic bleed solutions site (and their kit). Worked well. Are you following this method? You have to tilt the lever 45deg each way as well when bleeding.
Are you sure there is no kink/blockage in the hose? If not then I’d probably be swapping the levers over to rule out either caliper or lever….
As oceanskipper says. Sounds exactly like a blocked or kinked hose. Pull the hose out again and check the olive and barb. Make sure there's no bits in the end etc.
I had a real spongy brake, just the front, when I fitted new 4 pot XT calipers. I re-bleed a few times and still I couldnt fix it. This video help me fixed it
Both are solid a rock for weeks now
