I am running shimano xt cranks with shimano plastic bash and a single ring..... Just need to order some new bolts, but not sure what ones I need?!

Also, can you change the gold bolts on the e13 changuides? I don't really like gold 😳

Thx Simone

What is the ring? If it's a thin, non single ring jobbie, then thin bolts. If it's a specialist one for running a single ring (hope, renthal) then you need standard double length bolts.

From experience with many cranks and renthal rings, it's safer to go for a double bolt, in which case you don't need new bolts.

And yes, you can change the bolts, just you need some bolts...

I have a renthal 32t chainring on SLX triple cranks and find that normal chainring bolts are just a tiny bit too long (probably less than 0.1mm too long), so they don't do up tight against the chainring. Instead they bind to themselves and eventually rattle loose.
