That's a relief, I thought it was going to run forever. Still at least no one mentioned octopusses yet. (do they contain bearings?)

I arrived a bit late to the party, but I dont understand the constant STW references to octopuses... I mean.. if you're into cephalopods, Sepiolids are much better... 🙂

Can I just weigh in to say I'm disappointed not to find a classic Singletrackworld lynching in progress, as expected?

I mean, how do we know Mackem is not Glupton in disguise, or perhaps he has been shafting people in the classifieds? At the very least he might be boasting about his prowess at removing bearings?

Last time i read nine pages in I was at least rewarded with a serious browbeating in progress and a picture of a car rolling down a hill ejecting flaming penguins out of the window 🙄

Is that Mackem or Glupton in disguise?

I dont understand the constant STW references to octopuses

I think druidh's pointing out how cheap crown races are at just £1.50

(one and a half squid??)

Crown racing for midwives would be a scream - at least, my wife screamed (and squashed my poor hand 😥 )

Andrewh, it forms part of the STW initiation ceremony.

In order to be a true member, and a veteran of every pointlessly dragged out STW thread, you must read every page of the following thread, although I'll start you out at the relevant point:

Utter P1sh

IHN, I actually thought you were the villain of the above thread, and was curious as to why your presence was being tolerated 😀

That's not a squid. But it's not exactly an octopus either. Count the tentacles.....

A person in Place installed a race before he/she went to bed. When he/she awoke, the crown had been sprayed green by the concierge of the Mayfair Hotel.

Next time he/she is in Place, they will be staying at Browns instead, coz it's well bangin.

What saddle for 9 testicles?

A challenge for saddle designers (or should the term 'perch' be used hereabouts?)

Embonpoint - excellent word usage there. You can tell this is a high quality thread.

So who won the clown race? I missed it.

The surprising thing about this thread is not that it has reached almost 360 posts, it's that there are 85 contributors!

first i've seen of this thread. can someone summarise? looks like too much intense information to digest. I was too busy reading about a thread about planes on treadmills from 1997 and lost a few years there. Turns out they can take off. No wait, they can't... Hang on, I'll just re-read.

Summary;

Most headsets come with a crown race.
Some don't.
Some people have tried to claim they all do.
Contrary examples have been provided.
A graph has been drawn in support of the 'they all do' camp.
Some clowns had a race in silly cars.
Mackem is watching.
There was picture of an octopus. It may have been it's mouth on display.
I have missed out on 5 new pages. In a row!
There is a fly in Dez's ointment.
I still don't know who Caren Crow is.

Hope that helps.

Some of us are. I don't think all of us are taking it seriously.
I have tried to be informative but there are some childish types on here who keep going about Prince Charles and posting pictures of Mr Men.

Lost the track of this here thread tonight, as I was decorating - emulsion on the ceiling. Didn't go for Dulux this time - sick of it dripping. Tried this new stuff:

Music theme?

Slippery When Wet was a Bon Jovi album.
The The were a band when I was little. Are they still going?
T-Rex, obvious now I know.

Still struggling with the switch and the man with the red head. Head, headset, crown-race?

As an aside, I fell over the 'Caution! Wet Floor' sign at work today, carrying hot tea so could have been nasty. Gave the health and safety person something to think about.

It's Jimmy Page you heathen - Led Zep. - you know, they did 'Crown race for't Headset':

"There's a mackem who sure
all that glitters is gold
and he's buying a crown race for't headset
When he gets it he knows,
if the stores are all closed
with CRC he can get the crown race fitting tool online, delivered free"

Hang on that last line doesn't seem quite right??
'Slip off the Page'
