I did an air can service on my RS Monarch RT3 the other day & noticed a bit of wear to the inside of the air can where the piston sits(*). AIUI this shock has a 'self regulating' -ve pressure chamber where air bleeds from the main chamber via little dimple in the air can. So that got me wondering if there's any performance issue that'd be caused by air bypassing the piston via the wear to the inside of the can. Obviously if there's any roughness to the surface the seals will wear a bit faster, but apart from that is it worth getting bothered about?

(*) A bit of googling suggests that there may have been an issue with premature wear on some Monarch air cans which RS have replaced. Any info on that? (Yep I might as well drop an email to SRAM before anyone else suggests it).
