Uberbike have jockey's for £40. I have a Sram X01 11 speed mech.
Can you use pretty much any jockey wheels or do I have to go Sram?
I had some £5 eBay specials which were anodised and worked great.
Are the cheap ones alright compared to expensive ones?
Opinions please?
no help at all but I feel your pain. Sram parts are just a rip off compared to Shimano. Unfort all of my bikes came with Sram running gear 🙁
Shimano's interchangability is pretty good- they had a wee play at making 10 speed XT wheels expensive til everyone noticed that £8 Saint ones fitted.
SRAM 12 tooths aren't so simple but you can get X01 jockets for £32.50 (or £34 from Halfords, which is pretty discountable if you have BC) Apparently the standard 11 tooth ones actually fit but the 11 speed jockeys are supposedly better for retention and wrap (I suspect this is pish)
Anyone used the cheap eBay ones that look good for 11 speed with anodised bling?
Why 11,12,13 tooth? Does it make any difference whatsoever?
Narrow wide should not make any difference either?
So, why are pairs of jockey wheels £5/pair and some £40/pair?
"value based pricing".
You need 12t narrow wide. I've got a pair of the Chinese ebay ones, wrote the mech off before I had chance to fit them. They were about £12 I think you can have them for whatever they cost me if you want to try some without the 2 week wait.
Yeah, possible. I might be a tart about this...
What colour you got?
Lerway ones from Amazon are cheap and OK. Running a set in 11 spd 105 at the mo.
Black, and resin. Although there's a lot more choice now than there was when I bought mine!
Anyone tried these?
Narrow wide, 12T, cartridge bearing, about £13.... From China obviously. 🙂
