If you google/forum-search for 2mins, you'll see you can still get them even cheaper than you paid before.

Merlin are still doing them for £100.

...much less if you order one from one of the .de or .fr companies.

Cheers for the links. Seems Germany is way forward then.

A couple of years ago I bought a full (with brakes & wheels) M770 XT groupset from Merlin for about £450.
Crazy : )

I bought an SLX triple for £65 in 2008, I'd like another - now they are £130!?!?!???? WTF

With 4% off for spending £100, merlin looks pretty cheap for a UK seller atm
If you can find another £150 of stuff you want from them then you'll get 10% off?

if £130 was the best price, would you buy something lower spec or is that unthinkable?

Exchange rates need to better for us Brits! Sterling V Euros are not in our favour unfortunately.

I want to rip your beating heart out of your throat, bite a chunk out of it and I'd still not be satisfied. From British manufacturing...

I gotta say that sounds like bullshit to me. How come I can buy an SLX double chainset for £75 (converted from Euro by my Visa Card) from Germany and yet the exact same cheapest here is nearly £140 (converted by the importer I guess)? Unless someone at the importers is:

a- having a laugh
b- got convinved by someone to buy the stuff and hedge the value of Stirling v Euro
c- UK supplied SLX stuff is made from mud resistant Krypronite?

I've noticed that CRC prices are going up more than most at the moment.

Last time a bought a cassette a PG990 had gone up by £40!!

I spotted the SRAM cassette price hike as well. Over £80 now where they were £40 ish about a month or so ago.

Still Merlin have them plus a PG991 chain for £65.

I might just point my missus to this thread the next time she asks me why the garage is full up with old bike parts that serve no purpose. 🙂
