You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
After finally sorting my dub bottom bracket issues that resulted in a a lot of wasted money and a broken SRAM axle, I spent the cash on a hope 24mm BB and some second hand raceface cranks.
However, I am now looking at buying a frame with a PF92 standard. I don't want to go through new bottom bracket buying again. Does anyone know if this adapter to threaded will work or just be a creaky loose mess:
I can see that FSA make a sleeve for the more standard BB30 size which has good reviews but this is more of an eBay special with not much about it online.
Silly idea?
That adaptor won’t work - your shell would effectively be approx 95mm wide rather than 68/73.
You need a nee BB. Shimano press fit units are fine if frame BB bore tolerances are good. If not, I’ve had good success with the Wheels Mfg thread together units.
Pains me to say it, but (as above) Shimano pressfit BBs were pretty much trouble-free for me.
No problem thanks for the help.
At least its better than going back to DUB!
Can probably sell the hope one I have or keep it for a future frame
