Wheels Manufacturing would be our choice - good value, sealed angular contact bearings, seem to last well. Yes, you will need some tools to fit properly.

I have the standard Shimano BB71 (iirc) in my CX and it's been fine for about 18 months now.

My hope one creaked constantly. Lbs took it out and refitted it but made no difference. Fitted a shimano one and all is quiet.

I've got the Hope BB92 in my Zesty as of last summer. Had it fitted at preferred local shop (Eighteen) and doesn't creak in the least. Runs beautifully. I'd pay for another if I had another PF frame. Only downside is the tool needed to get the main body in, makes it a shop fit initially.

Been using the Hope one for 11 months now. Not done huge mileage on it but no issues at all with it.
