Hi All, having been a threaded BB man my entire life i'm contemplating a new 'adventure' style drop bar bike. Many of these feature press fit BB's in a variety of flavours, with BB30 and BB93 cropping up on the bikes that have caught my eye.

Have the creak issues with press fit BB's been addressed yet, are they as dependable as threaded BB's in the creak free department?

Views and experiences please?

I have had BB92 pressfit BB on my MTB for almost five years now and can honestly say that it has never creaked.

However, I have changed 5 or 6 of them due seizing up or most often after they have becomed notchy. Current one is RWC stainless version which is 5x more expensive than stock Shimano, let's see how long it will last.

BB92s don't creak as much as PF30s. A Hope PF30 (which is screwed together) seems to be the most assured route to a non-creaky PF30 BB as it stops the cups from displacing in the shells.
