I'm servicing a bike which will soon need a new drivetrain including rings and BB. It's a Giant Anthem and has basically a Deore chain set with a BB-71 (41mm) press fit BB

Is it possible to buy a complete Deore chainset with a BB71, rather then HT2 external? This would be more cost effective

Cheers 🙂

(I don't think it is, is it?)

Nope, they only come with threaded 68 / 73mm BB.

That's a bit crap, but as I expected, cheers. 🙂

It is these days with fewer and fewer bikes actually using threaded BBs! Shimano should do as they do on the road - just not include a BB (and drop the price accordingly).

Agree with that, just got a new XT chainset that came with a BB... just not the press fit one I needed 🙁

OK, next question, will Park Tool BBT-90.3 remove a BB71? It doesn't specifically say it does, but it does say 'Other press fit BBs'
