You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Reading the Qwerty Cycles article that's mentioned under the "News" section over there on the right, I got to the bottom and saw the bit about 10% discount for subscribers, with subscriptions starting at £2.
Two things I noticed;
1. The big names are not on the list; CRC, Wiggle, and, to a lesser extent, Evans and Merlin.
I've nearly always used CRC and Wiggle via Quidco, because they generally have the biggest stock list and the lowest prices with good delivery times.
Without comparing a whole list of items myself, would 10% make it worthwhile using one of the smaller on line shops ?
2. Two things that are not available from the big two, and are both around £1000, are Rohloff from Kinetic and Lefty from Qwerty.
Despite the fact that subscriptions actually start at £2.99, not £2, it would be worth taking out a subscription for one month just to save yourself ~£100 if you were after a new Lefty or Rohloff.
I think you have to subscribe for about 3 years before yourecieve the discount card 😉
Got mine straight away. No place to use it yet though. But with a P, I do get to turn off the adverts on STW.....
Its in the other thread on this and I think you need to have an annual sub to get the card. Most of those shops would probably do you a discount if you went in and talked nicely.
The discount card is for annual subscribers only I'm afraid. And everyone has a card nowt here's a digital version http://singletrackmag.com/premier/digitalcard
Brilliant, that's the first time I've seen a discount card.
Not seen the digital card before! Synced today at 9 AM...
Need to look at where to use it....

Now that's clever. What's the thinking behind how to use that? Print it off? Show it to shop on smart/iPhone?
Ooh that's snazzy!
Needs a sticky to tell people it's there me thinks. Would much rather use a digital version as Idon't tend to carry my full wallet with all cards when out on bike, but always have phone
The idea is you bookmark it on your phone. iPhone version saves as a web app to your home screen.
I have a loyalty card/membership app (keyring I think) I would add STW but there are no discounters down under (which I'm still very offended by more so that expensive hotels 😉 )
Jakobshavn Isbrae holds the record as Greenland's fastest moving glacier, which do you reckon will get here first? The card or the glacier. :p

I thought it sounded too good to be true.
This is a bit misleading though;
Premier Singletrack members benefit from a 10% discount on the whole Qwerty range, using this codeThis content is exclusive for Premier users.
If you are a Subscriber log in.Subscriptions start from just £2.00
Anyway, back to my original point.
Apart from the obscure stuff that's only available from specialists like Kinetics, SJS or Qwerty, does anyone regularly use any of the smaller mail order shops ?
The usual argument is;
CRC/Wiggle = in stock, fast delivery & cheap.
LBS = Immediate collection (if in stock, wait a week if not), costs more, but personal service and advice if needed.
Smaller on line retailer seems to be the worst of both worlds to me.
There's plenty of them though, so someone must be using them. What am I missing ?
Think you have it right Graham. I also use the 'big hitters' or LBS depending on what I am buying or speed I need it. Go somewhere else for a PSA off here sometimes but that would not attract the discount anyway.
Might be handy if you are in the area though.
