Every ride (usually mid-way) and I start suffer weakness and shakes. no warning, usually its a quick feeling of hunger then immediate weakness.
Now I know its the basics etc but what should I eat ideally for breakie etc? If its a bowl of cereal I'd be hungry before I've even started.
Banana.
Wheat based cereals are rubbish - go for oats.
Porridge with raisins/honey.
malt loaf and Jam
Porridge +1
Porrige +2. Bit of honey on it is nice.
+1 Malt loaf & jam.
Another vote for porridge here.
Def porridge. It makes us Scots big and strong.
Including scot girls?!
We keep the strongest for ourselves but yes.
porridge
Def porridge , also how long are the rides you suffer on and are you using any sort of sports drink or energy bars as your body is only good for an hour or so without needing a fuel top up
full english breakfast, or similar.
You need to come on more of my cake filled rides
Big mac, large fries and a diet coke. Followed by 2 apple pies and a mcflurry.
Failing that porridge (made with milk, not water) honey and raisins
Any carbs, probs slow release.
Just eat something like banana, flapjack etc when you feel that way.
Keavo that makes me FART. Podge.... Yep!
extra turbo boost! free with every full english:-)
Beans and egg on toast.
I'm one of those freaks that can't eat early in the morning so rarely have breakfast before a ride. Instead though a pocket full of fig rolls keeps me going when hunger starts to rear it's head.
At some point during the ride though something involving bacon and eggs is usually called for - or a Cornish 'performance' pasty 🙂
