I often do a long way in and a ride at lunchtime or go long way home. As the other thread on being slimmer is now discussing thermodynamics and fruitist vs dairy evolution can we have suggestions for food to take to work that’s filling and tasty that’s good for post /pre rides and will reduce my 16 pack ?
I like sandwiches and they are easy to make but I probably eat too much bread.

i'd eat Vietnamese babies, you'll get less weird looks than when you turn up in sweaty lycra

I commute 30 miles a day and do this:-
Pre Morn Commute: Cup of coffee

At work: before my shower 1 glass of nesquik with soy milk
after shower bowl of museli

Snack: rice cakes and fruit

Lunch: wraps with filling of some sort, crisps and a choccy bar

Before evening commute: Fruit or something

It owrks for me and drinking shed loads of water helps too.

You don't?!?!?!?!?! 🙂

Anyway cake and crisps are the way forward.
You get three of your veg portions too. Potatoes, Corn, and the cherry from the top of the gateaux.

During summer I stop at the market to buy "fresh" fruit.
During winter I stop at the baker to buy bread/pastries.
I have some rice cake, cheapo jam tart and some chocolate if I am starving day time.
Lunch whatever I got cook from the day before.
What do you mean by "I probably eat too much bread. "

16 pack, lol.

when I ride in, I'm hungry all day. I find a mahoosive bowl of porridge helps considerably. try thos Symington Mug Shots, thai noodle style or cheesy nad noodles ...just add hot water.

Like you didn't notice how grim British bread is while you lived here..! 🙂

Muesli is good, but be aware of some of them, which look healthy but are jam packed with sugar.

Porridge is my favourite, I think - jumbo oats are best, as they take longer to break down the starches (so called "slow release" carbs).

Make sure your portion sizes are under control - I've met plenty of people who say "I hardly eat anything unhealthy", but consume 3000 calories of bread and pasta every day.

slice of toast and a cup of coffee before I leave, home made fruit and nut bar when I get to work, sandwiches at lunch time, another fru8it/nut bar mid afternoon then a banana just before I leave. Also lots of water throughout the day. In winter I usually have porridge first thing as it's a tough old ride across the moor on the cold days.

20 miles each way and that's enough to see me through the day and ride at a fast pace. And I'm not hungry all day.

In France, people officially stop work completely for 2 hours at lunchtime. They leave their workplace, it shuts, they drink wine in bars until 2.30pm, return to work, open up, then tidy up before hometime. Fact.
