You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Just been told that there are no EX1501 (or XM) a available for.my.new build until mid-June.
Even looking online I can't find anyone stocking the set I need.
What are the alternatives for a 29er, 30mm ish internal under 2kg, Other than the 1700 series DT Swiss?
Need to be available to ship so can't go custom build.
Newmen A.30 - Look good but might not be here in time from Germany.
Halo Vapour 35 - How strong are they?
What are Stand Flow MK3 like these days?
get the Micorspline ones and a freehub body? You can either sell the MS freehub or keep for later use.
They've got Shimano ones in stock? I'll have to talk to the shop if so.
Yeah Madison have the wheels and freehubs in stock. You just need a Microspline rear + a freehub.
Thanks Ben, that sounds promising.
I'm running the Newmen A.30s - really good. If they are in stock you should get them in time.
I'll do you a microspline > Shimano freehub swap. I have a Shimano but will need MS in a couple of months.
Will put it in the post today if you want.
If you need XD instead, I have that too.
I really like the look of those Newmen wheels.
Carbon Roval traverse are a little more at 999 but really nice set, good weight 30mm internal
What exact spec do you need?
get hand built ones with ex511 rims
Bearback: Thanks, if I was sorting it myself I'd take you up on that but it's all going through the shop for the build. Tbh I'll probably keep the microspline in case XT 12pd does a 10-45 med cage.
Sprocker: Don't really want carbon rims. Hence asking here as there isn't much out there to compete with the EX that I have found.
Hatter: I need ex1501 30mm 29er boost XD but not sure if CL or 6 bolt.
Poah: if someone could get that to me by Thursday then I'd be happy but that's unlikely hence needing off the shelf.
I had the same problem wanting some ex1501 and could not get them, bought carbon and dont regret it. Plenty of folk prefer Ali though and I didn't get on with the light bicycle ones I tried a couple of years ago.
Just curious why it's so urgent? Going away?
I'd probably wait for the right wheelset or buy a decent s/h set as a stand-in til the ones I wanted arrived.
I have some of the Newman A35s. They are light, strong and really well put together. Lovely hubs as well. Just spent a week smashing them down the trails in Finale, and they never missed a beat. Bought mine from Bike-Discount I think, in stock delivered in three working days.
Yeah going away.
If I could guarantee the German order I'd probably just get the Newman's.
Will see what the distro can do.
If I couldn't have DT, I'd be buying Syntace.
If there's no BH in Germany, you'd probably get them same day as a UK set?
Anywhere with 27.5 1501 spokes in stock online? 584 sp.
JE James usually have them in.
Got some 304mm from them last week though they didn't come with the ball head unlike the ones I got from them for my 27.5s.
JEJ was the only place I could find.
What's the build?
Would xm1501s be an option. Run with a rimpact and you're probably not loosing much with an xm481 rim over the ex511.
XM are what I've got now. Been faultless but want to get the EX this time. No XM 30s from the distro either.
