I asked basically this a while ago (but also wanted horizontal dropouts for Alfine duties). Ended up with an orange R8 (and a chain tensioner). It feels very similar to the Soul running on a 100mm fork, though my Soul tends to be nearer 130mm. The Orange came from Bike Scene in Guisborough, they had a fair bit of old stock, but I can't get on their website to see if they are still available.

Last generations of Genesis Altitude/Latitude 26 inch had rack mounts. Top end (models 20 or 30) would be Reynolds 853 main tubes and similar geometry to a Soul, I think.
They don't do them any more but you can find old stock in some shops and 2nd hand.

that could be the answer..

I have two bikes at the moment -
a rigid commuter/workhorse/trailer towing bike with zero attraction to thieves so I can lock it town.. but it's useless off road so I also have a pretty pimp rigid Soul..

If I really think about it, what I'm trying to do is consolidate so that I just have one truly all-purpose bike, hopefully freeing up some capital at the same time if at all poss..

I'll get nowt for the utility bike so any money will have to come out of the Soul, but what can possibly fill the Soul's shoes and still be unattractive to thieves..?

moon on a stick..?

EDIT: ooooh, more replies as I was typing.. 😀
