Anyone done it? Did it work out ok? I was wondering of the heat involved distorted the rim any? Or whether the blasting would weaken the rim?

Lots of folk have had Fatbike rims coated. I've never heard of any problems.

Some say the heat will affect the alu.

Not had any problems with the ones supplied on Orange bikes.

Cheers for the replies, I think I'll give it a go. I'll speak to the PC guy first, in the past when they have blasted the stuff its a particularly abrasive media they use, I'll also ask about the heat and distortion though if it is fairly low hopefully it'll be fine. One of my concerns was the rim join and the effect the heat would have on it. I should point out I've drilled a load of big holes in the rims as well.
