Hi, I'm new on here. I'm want to powder coat a nice Lava Dome '97 steel frame in a particular blue. A couple of years ago on this forum, Swiftwhippet advertised a Kilauea for sale in exactly the colour i want: Swiftwhippet's Kona Kilauea, blue

I cant find a powder coater that can do that vibrant, punchy blue. Can anybody help or point me in the right direction? Any assistance appreciated!

Ask them for their RAL code books and look through there to match it.
Guarantee it will be there somewhere.
That looks like either "Sky" or "Powder Blue" as a general colour but may be off slightly either way.
Actually just checked and is is a shade above RAL5012 "Light Blue"
It could be 20 E 51 Cornflower Blue.
10 E 50 Ribbon Blue looks slightly too light
Best bet is to have a good look round here and see which YOU think is best.

Thanks Hammyuk 😀 Yes, seen the RAL charts, but sadly this very bright blue/ aqua isnt on them. Most of the powder coaters ive spoken to use the RAL colours, supplemented by a few other fancier ones. Just need to find one using that blue! Grrr..The search goes on!

Where are you as I know the PC I use can match it but it might be prohibitive if you're too far away.

Looks very similar to Cotic BFe blue which actually is a lot darker and more turquoise/aqua in the flesh than it appears in pics.

Thanks guys. I'm in London. I'll search that Cotic Blue. Do you know the paint supplier?
