After some recommendations that would do a good job of re-coating my old Bontrager. Just so I can some estimates at the moment.

The Powder Shack have done a nice job on a couple of my mates bikes, but they've needed a good clean-out before assembly. Things to beware of if you're looking at random places include over zealous shot-blasting destroying the frame (pock marks, waves across flat surfaces, damaged bearing surfaces and threads), and overheating during stoving destroying heat treatment on aluminium frames. I've seen the former, it wasn't pretty, but it was expensive.

I paid £70 to get a steel road frame powder-coated at Vale Powder Coatings, not a bike shop or anything so I had to be specific about what needed to be masked off or plugged. Other places wanted £80 or £150 but I'm happy with the job I got. Not sure about sandblasting alu though.

Where do you live? I'm down near Portsmouth and I got my Orange 5 sand blasted and powder coated for £40 at a local place earlier in the year. I was very pleased with the results and even more pleased by the price!

location is the key if you are up north you can pay £25-30 for a popular ral colour (i got graphite or batleship grey)  (LSN coatings castleford), or pay significantly more, if you asked bob jackson to do it, but it'll come back looking new...

I've sent you a PM with more details, but the company I used was Raltech Finishers Ltd who are based in Farlington.

There's a company in Ledbury who I've used a few times now. I do get special rates as we use them through work and I do the sandblasting myself..

RAL 5021. I was so torn between that and a battleship grey but decided to go for a splash of colour in the end. I love it.

I never knew that picking a colour for a bike frame could be so stressful, I spent many days googling RAL codes!

80 quid from a local place, told them it was a bike frame and they said yeah no problem we'll plug it all up.  Sure enough they did, just needed a trip to the LBS to face the headet/bottom bracket/rear brake mounts.
