Hi all, I have a on one codeine with the ccdb shock. Ice now ridden it twice over around 23 mile.. Problem is when you first apply weight to the bike the shock us kinda notchy? Just until the sag has been taken then it's smoot?? Not noticed whilst riding. Does thus sound like a problem? Settings issue? Just wanted sine advice before I call up on one again

Tried taking the shock off and cycling the suspension thought its travel, then you can confirm its the shock and not a bad bearing.

Nah, I thought that with mine, but they all have a little breakaway resistance. You won't feel that when you're riding.
I've checked several and they all feature that.

It's the air seals shuttling at the tart of the Stoke. If you don't like that it does this TF do an extra wide spacer that stops It happening. Or you can just ignore it.

My CCDB Inline does this for the first 5mm of its stroke. I was going to ask TF Tuned about it but I can't feel it when riding the bike so I didn't bother.

It's normal. The resistance then give is the point at which the pos and neg air chambers are equalising.

Very, very top of stroke you are 100% compressing the shock with load, compress to the equalisation point, you now have the neg chamber and load compressing the shock, essentially now making it easier to compress.

It's just what it does.

Make sure there's enough clearance between the reservoir and the air valve bump on the canister. It's possible for the can to rotate a little and touch the reservoir on compression. Speaking from recent experience...

Cheers guts

A little harsh, even with the STW demographic... 🙂
