Been trying get online quotes just now.  Just about all the sites (Parcelfarce, Parcel Monkey etc) say the box is too long at 158cm, and DXDirect quoted me £96!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I’ve used Paisley Freight many times with no issues, last time 3 weeks ago. £35 for a bike from memory.

Very much not Paisley for me absolute nightmare.
Try Tuffnels, they didn't seem fussed about big boxes, really heavy too (bike, spare wheel, lights, shoes, helmet, drink mix, etc)

I used Paisley Freight last week, well maybe 2 weeks ago. Cracking service, easy to arrange and cheapest! Next day delivery as standard as well.

I've used paisley freight a few times. They can also deliver you a bike box to pack it in.
Though once for me they came to collect the bike before the box was delivered 😄 easily sorted it out via email, they were quick to reply.

The size restrictions on their site sat :
"The length of your final packaged box should not exceed 1.6m with the sum of the width and height not exceeding 1.2m (i.e. when you add the width and height together they should not be more than 120cm)"

Another vote for Paisley. They use APC next day for the actual pickup and delivery. I've sent a few and had no problems. It's a bit iffy on tracking though - first time, some geezer turned up in a white van and took it. No tracking number or receipt. Next I heard, it was already there.

Paisley are fine when it all goes okay, but when it goes wrong, they're an utter nightmare and will make NO attempt to find a missing parcel and will go straight to compensation and wriggling - if you can get through to them at all.

I wouldn't risk posting a bike. I'd rather spend a day driving it there myself.

Surely that depends where you are and where it's going??

If the op lives in Portsmouth and is sending it to Aberdeen it's gonna cost a load more than £35!!

I’ve always used Paisley Freight and never had any issues. Sent a whole bike and a frame just last week.

I think they actually sub contract everything through APC these days

Might take a look at APC directly and cut out paisley middle man.
