Morning all,

Sold a frame via the forum. Tried to use parcel2go for my hermes but they will only collect, presumably due to the size and this is the same for the other more expensive services (parcelforce etc). Collection is not an option due to work.

Do I have any other options other than trying to get a smaller box for the frame?

Cheers

You should be able to drop off at almost any post office for parcel force....

I thought that but the size means I can only drop off at a depot which is 5 miles from my house. Just tried on the parcelforce site. Balls!

Parcel Force through here-

https://www.postagesupermarket.com/

is loads cheaper for a bike sized box. I sent a Cotic box recently (containing a Stanton!) for about £12 I think. Balls to using Herpes for anything, ever.

edit- our main post office takes bike sized boxes.

Technically it'll be classed as parcel force 'large'. Postoffices official have to sign up with PF, agreeing to take that size parcel, so there's few places listed on the PF website. However if your nice to the postmaster/mistress I'm sure they would take it.
We run a tiny village shop / Postoffice, and have 0 room to put a large parcel but would still take one for collection as they come in so rarely.
Just make sure you prepay online and attach all the lables etc. It's cheaper to go though sites like parcel monkey using parcel force than either using there own website or paying in the Postoffice.

No drop off services through senditnow or postagesupermarket. Presumably because it's 123cm long...

I'll go for a chat with the local post office later to see if they'll take it via parcel force if I pay for drop off at the depot.

Edit- had another go on the parcelforce website and it seems to accept local drop off! Woohoo! Problem solved I think...
