Hi

excuse my stupidity....

i have post mount forks, and IS mount brake caliper (hope mini #3)

I need an adaptor that will enable me to fit these brakes to my forks, but i dont seem to be able to find one anywhere

I have read that there is one that adds 20mm to the rotor size. I currently have a 185mm rotor and ideally id like to keep it, so an adaptor that doesnt require i get a new rotor - would i be right in saying i get an adaptor for 160mm + 20 in that case?

Any help greatly appreciated

They do exist but are quite rare these days.

This the sort of thing you're after?

Very unlikely you'll find a 160 mount, most fronts assume a 180 rotor, and the fork mounts are made to fit just that, so you are limited to a PM caliper or a 205 rotor in your case.

Somouk that's the other way round, its to fit a PM caliper to an IS fork.

thansk guys

ive pretty much blown my budget on the new forks. I assumed i coudl get an adaptor easily enough - oversight on my behalf it seems

dont really want to be buying new caliper or new rotor

might just be rear brake only for a bit it woddl seem!

this says it's a 160mm to 160mm but I guess it could be used with a caliper that adds 20mm to give 160 - 180 conversion if it first fork and caliper?

I've got one to fit my IS Shimano calliper to a Marz PM fork, and nope, you will not find a "+0mm" version it's either a new calliper, new brake or a 205mm rotor... Sorry...

thoughts form people if thsi woudl work? The theory suggests it would? If its for 160mm rotor and it adds 20mm then surely it woudl be ok?

Unfortunately:

Ended: 25 Jan, 2011 16:27:28 GMT

and an ebay search using the term "KCNC Disc Brake Adapter IS - POST" doesn't turn up what The OP is after, just lots of lightweigh standard IS to PM calliper adaptors...

Merlin Link £12 in stock.

I think you need option SM20H. They're right that you'll have to go +20mm i've got one in my tool box.

Edit: you might want to give hope a ring to double check that's the right one. I know it was for my 160mm XTRs to go 180 and it was correct for my 180mm M4s to go 200mm.
