Just swapped from a guide caliper to a Hayes dominion.

The post mount caliper for my 200mm rotor on a fox 36 that worked with the guide doesn't clear the dominion caliper. It seems it doesn't have a deep enough v profile.

I can space it out with washers between the caliper and adapter but then only half my rotor is in the pads.

Do the adapters come in different shapes and sizes for different calipers? Seems I need more of a V profile

I had this exact problem today with my shimano zee rotors. A quick visit to a shop determined the shimano post mount adaptors had the deepest section to allow for the calliper body

When my Hope calliper fouled my Shimano post mount Adapter, I used a half round file to clearance the centre part of the adapter. I was going to paint the filed bit of the adapter but I never bothered as the calliper covered it.

Ahh, adapters.

I've just finished building up my Cotic Rocket to which I was going to fit my perfectly serviceable Hope Mini (Original type) brakes but binned that idea as I'd have to have brought IS to PM adapters and larger discs.

Managed to pick up a pair of almost new XT brakes and discs for £70 so they went on instead.

Now I have 2 x C2s, 2 x M4s and 3 x Minis in my workshop. It's becoming something of a Hope brakes museum!

Hope mounts have the deepest v of any I have found to work with V4 calipers which have very offset pistons.
