.......... but I'd really like to 'upgrade' my CX bike from cable discs and 10spd to hydraulic discs and 11 spd.
Hydraulics due to the better stopping power and not needing to adjust the pads all the sodding time and 11 spd so I've got common drive trains (think quicklinks and spare chains) throughout.
The most sensible way (I can think of) and also probably the most cost effective is to buy something like the new Boardman Team CX or a Pinnacle Arkose 3, strip all the bits I want, namely drive train and brakes, put them on my current CX frame & wheels, then chuck the 10speed and cable discs on teh doner frame.
It would invariably be on B2W so the cost of the new bike would be in the region of £650 taking into account the tax savings, and once the scheme is done (12 months at my place), flog the cobbled together bike and recoup some cash.
