You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
hi, I would really appreciate some advice. i have 4 sets of 26" forks on eBay. most are ticking along nicely, I have one set which is already at £380, the bidding being led by a zero feedback bidder. this bidder sent me a message a few days ago looking for a BIN. price. he is a delivery rider from venezuala. i am suspicious that venezualian bike couriers don't generally need forks at that price. is this some sort of scam? What can i do ? thanks
Cancel all his bids and ban him from bidding.
Life is too short and £1 FVF listing don’t come around every week
anyway, not a scam, he just didn't comprehend the cost of shipping and import duty ! we reached an amicable agreement to cancel
There are a suspicious number of zero feedback foreign based bidders on eBay going for bike stuff. I am not convinced they are all completely naive.
Maybe not a scam but a massive inconvenience, have to cancel an auction, raise non paying bidder, possible negative feedback, lose the £1 final selling fee, and if they pay, PayPal now keep the initial fee on the payment received.
If the trade goes ahead eBay global shipping isn’t valid and postage is expensive
It’s lose lose so best to restrict the listing to UK bidders only on items like this
I restrict bids to a very select set of countries and having read up on it (and just been ripped off by it) would not offer global shipping if you are actually interested in offering international postage.
