Probikeshop is part of the Signa group (who also owned Wiggle/CRC) so more than likely always had access to Nukeproof etc... or it could be the last of Nukeproof orders coming from the factory and being sent to Probikeshop rather than Wiggle/CRC as they are still in Administration and not liquidation like Wiggle/CRC

Probikeshop was indeed part of the Signa group. Should be coming back soon as they where saved by a capital input from some of their initial investors from long ago.

Will be on a lot smaller scale then before as only like 1 out of 5 or even less employees will be remaining.

I was never a big spender at CRC, but they were always my go to place to buy stuff throughout my biking life, and never had an issue with them. So I do feel for the people there and how this affects them.

while there’s not much I can do about it, I did send them a thank you message and wished them all the best for the future, through their contacts page. I hope it made someone smile…

There really is nothing left on their website. Unless they have more stock in transit I can imagine the administrators completely pulling the plug within a few days.

Very sad about this. I spent a fortune there over the years. Bought many bikes from them. More forks and shocks than I'd care to add aup. Very much a part of my mountain biking life. They sold stuff I actually wanted to buy whereas when I'd walk into my LBS I'd have the choice of Altura commuting clothing and nothing else. Over the years the LBS got better and I spent more with them but for the majority of my cycling experience CRC were my default vendor. Really sad for everyone that's lost their livelihood over this.

Looks like the app is still working and you can navigate to your orders through that, as I’ve had to do the same thing!

The final delivery of stuff I didn't need, but at that price it seemed rude not to,  turned up yesterday afternoon

A mate just got his too. The pick of the bunch was a Brand-X Ascend dropper post for 30 quid

RIP Chiggle. It looks like this really is the end

I placed orders on the 12th and 14th, wonder if they will eventually arrive. Used Paypal so hopefully can get back from them if not?

They've ruined the market for years by selling way below RRP and in recent years their customer service has been dire. You reap what you sow.

I checked about an hour ago, and it was showing my order (15th) was in transit and due tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that (a) Evri delivers (b) everything's there (c) the remaining staff are OK

There was loads still in stock (1000+ Brand -X droppers for example) but I reckon they've sold (or are selling) what's left via the liquidators. Presumably the sales of £30 droppers reaches a point where it cheaper to sell them for pennies on the pound in bulk than keep the lights on.

I was kicking myself as I was waiting to see if some nice TT bars for my track bike dropped any further (they were already £450 -> £81) 😂 and a spare dropper for each bike would have been nice at those prices.

I placed my last orders on the 12th - I checked last night and tracking had been added to say it should arrive by Tue 19th (today) --- obviously the site is down now so I have no way of tracking but I assume it'll turn up at some point..... I'm in no rush as it's all stupidly cheap spare parts and some clothing for the future that I ordered.

I have one order that was updated as shipped on Friday night but Evri shows still waiting for the parcel, it was only a couple of jerseys and not too expensive, I would expect that Evri are working on a cash up front basis with Wiggle/CRC by now, so probably just stuck in a backlog.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the brands.

An order I placed on the 11th turned up today. £325 of DHB gear. RRP would have been nearly £1k.

Two more orders are still in the pipeline. I’m sure they’ll turn up eventually. Thankfully these are for much lesser amounts!

Interesting to see that the holding page says they’ll be back soon. I wonder how it’ll compare. I hope DHB & Prime gear etc will still be made but I’m not holding out too much hope.

"Interesting to see that the holding page says they’ll be back soon."

All the sold out items said stock expected soon so I wouldn't read too much into it.

I held out as long as I dared for some Prime wheels, got them for £300 (instead of £900). Two days after I'd placed my order, the whole lot were taken offline.

Still got one order outstanding, a dhb wetsuit (for open water swimming) which was £26 instead of £180! No info yet on when (if...) it'll arrive.

I wonder where the vultures will circle next?

Which vultures? I thought Wiggle failed because of a flawed business model propped up by a shady property guy?

All the medium-big players are obvs feeling the squeeze by their stock dumping, but many seem to have ownership/funding in place to weather the next critical 12 months?

My order arrived today. £170 odd of clothing - rrp around the £1000 mark.

Ordered 13/3

But missing one jersey. I'm not confident that I'll be able to rectify.

My nukeproof horizon Pro wheels turned up today. For the price they are lovely. About £135 for the pair which was pretty impressive.

Shame to see the end of wiggle /crc as I always had good service.

I’ve had an Evri notification today, hopefully it’s my £30 dropper post, though I also ordered a replacement fleece last week.

If anyone fancies a navy blue fohn half zip fleece in medium let me know as I won’t be able to return it now…

Well, my parcel was almost delivered by Evri today but the courier got in an argument at reception when he was told to go to Goods In, refused and eventually drove off and marked it in the tracking as I requested it be returned to sender! Tried to log a re-delivery with Evri (bot) so hopefully it turns up. Probably be crushed and covered in dog sh1t. Hate Evri, dunno if same individual but 9/10 times it gets to ~5:30 and you get a "failed delivery, business was closed" despite it being a 24x7 business and I check the CCTV each time to confirm there was no delivery attempt ffs

@core I don't want the fleece, but they are really good fleeces if it's the on I'm thinking of with the stretchy pockets!

That sounds like the one bobodaclown - heavyweight sherpa fleece with front pockets in a different material. Think the last one I ordered was under £20. First one was a navy XL which was huuuuge, so I returned it and went medium and it's way smaller, so went for the large in the green in the end, which is the colour I wanted to start with, but they were still over £40 then...

Evri just delivered the stuff I ordered on Thursday - the first I knew about it was the knock on the door, followed by the email from Evri telling me that the parcel had been delivered. They hadn't told me one was coming, so it was a nice surprise

I noted somebody put an ad up on one of the MTB buy and sell facebook pages yesterday listing any diameter, any drop Brand-X Ascend dropper posts for £100 each. Lots of people immediately jumped on it as he'd clearly bought a job lot of them for 30 quid each.

The post was removed.

Fair enough if you want to make a few quid, but don't take the piss and drop a job lot on there with a 70 quid mark-up, especially when everyone knows where they've come from probably a few days ago

I don't get the outrage at enterprising people selling ex-Wiggle/CRC stock at inflated (over vastly reduced) prices. Good on them, others are probably just jealous they didn't have the foresight or means to do it themselves.

The real value of the droppers isn't £30, it is £100 or more, granted there'll be no warranty now so £100 is perhaps a bit steep, but it's quite simple - if you think they're too expensive, don't buy one!

I can't believe the current price of that neutron headset on trisport. £22 and its not even new, it's used! Some resellers on eBay are selling new ones for about £15. What the hell?

Edit - on closer inspection it doesn't even include the lower cup!!? Bizarre

Edit #2 - okay it might be one of those internal routed cable jobbies but even so.

Neither do I, what do you think CRC. did in the first place!

They bought a 1000 of them for £30 each and posted them for sale for £150 each.

Thats exactly what these guys are doing.

Its not like you didnt have time to nab yourself from, CRC.

Oh and the outrage of someone buying the CRC owned brand names.... That's exactly what CRC did years ago, they bought the Nukeproof brand name and badged up a load of far east sourced frames.

This cheapened the brand as I remember Nukeproof in the nineties was a niche maker of carbon centred hubs.

I'm hardly outraged. Good luck to 'em, but play the game. Don't take delivery of them all then immidiately drop a shit ton of them on a buy and sell page. I wouldn't imagine it'd go down too well if one poster filled the entire classifieds on here with them

I presume the FB buy and sell page posts were removed as the guy was obviously trading.

My last order arrived yesterday. It actually is "the end of an era".

Not sure which retailer will be my go-to for routine bits now, but it's unlikely to be the relaunched CRC & Wiggle.

This might be a good time for Merlin to increase the range of stock they offer.

I risked a return last week. It wasn't high value but it didn't fit - crazily tight Nukeproof merino t-shirts.

I got confirmation it had arrived on Tuesday, barely an hour before the site went offline, and the refund went onto my credit card yesterday. From that experience I'd assume they plan to honour any orders made in the final few days.

I used the return notes section to add an "I'm sorry for what happened to you, thanks, and good luck" message, just in case any staff might see it.

According to Evri my last CRC order has just been delivered - Nukeproof tyre inserts, headset spacers and a pair of Nukeproof shorts for my daughter......

I had ordered a spare mech hanger for her Vitus XC bike, but that was cancelled and refunded within an hour or 2 of placing the order.

Last ever order placed 10 days ago. Just recieved everything I ordered which was a pleassant suprise, I'd half expected not too after the website went down.

Felt pretty sad about it tbh. I've been using Wiggle/CRC since I started cycling more seriously 15 years ago. Bought several bikes from them and TONS of jerseys/shorts.

Always my first port of call for bits and bobs. Not sure where I'll be shopping now.

Bought my first proper MTB as an adult from Wiggle in 2006 and instantly became sone kind of gold customer. Sad times.

I used the CRC side of it more than Wiggle after the merger as it suited my browsing style better. Until they introduced the industry-leading concept of refusing to put the most pertinent and useful filters on every page of product. Really great when you are shopping for a chainring and BCD isn’t a filter option, but colour is.

I think it is Tredz and Merlin with a smattering of SJS for me now.

Gawd knows what knock-on impacts of the Chiggle fire sale will be. There will be a lot of people out there with enough spares to last until 2030.

Ultimately, though, I believe that the covid boom times and associated greed/fantasy of the funders is to blame. I imagine that when the Chinese factories re-opened they upped their MOQs so only the big boys could get stock. Flush with their new cash, in they went. Demand fell through the floor and all of a sudden a bunch of investors found that their money was sat in a warehouse somewhere in bike component/clothing form and not going anywhere.

Such is the way of the world.

🙄

It looks like they spent the last week or so picking the outstanding orders and then moved to shipping the orders out as I had my final three orders arrive in two days.

As has been said, it seems a well managed wind down by the administrators and certainly was a professional job throughout by those remaining staff.  They were a credit to the history of CRC/Wiggle and themselves.

My final two orders arrived Weds & Thurs this week, complete with Evri notifications, which was a pleasant surprise. As much as many (including me) may have questioned their business practices and the impact they’ve had on local bike shops, it is the end of an era and is tinged with sadness for me.

I hope the good people from Wiggle/CRC find alternative employment in cycling (if they want to).

Fair play to Chain Reaction/Wiggle and the administrators. The whole process has been managed really well, some of the price changes were a bit odd but the actual delivery/customer service has been brilliant.

I'm struggling to get my head around the "normal" prices of things from other retailers following the recent deals from CRC/Wiggle, if the item hasn't got at least an 60% reduction I'm not interested!

I purchased a bike shortly after the administrators were called in and it arrived in perfect condition, it was actually better set up than a bike from my LBS a few years ago! Initially I was worried they might go under mid purchase and I could loose my money but I noticed they're even accepting returns for a month or two.

It's a real shame for the staff and the company as a whole, something changed a couple of years ago, can't put my finger on it but I went from buying something almost every month to not buying a single thing from them for 12 months+.

Hope it's not the slug that is Mike Ashley, that has bought out the remaining stock and brand names! Evans don't refund you if you take an item back, it's a credit note only... what did I ever think it would be with Mike Ashley's mucky paws all over it!
