Evening all,
Just planning a trip out this summer and was wondering about staying on the Swiss side. For snowboarding we always stay in Champery so know the town well, and connecting to France is never a problem. Is that also true for MTB in the summer? Also are there many options for bike hire?

I've never stayed in Champerey but whenever we've been there (summer) it has always seemed very quiet compared with the buzz of Morzine and Les Gets.

It's not the same in summer. There's a lot less lifts and less "pistes" so there's quite a difference in locations. I think the most practical place to stay is Morzine as it's downhill from a significant chunk of the biking area so you can finish later and still get home. It's also reasonably central so easy to get to most bikey bits. As above some towns are very quiet, depends what you like. Nowhere is busy but Morzine and Les Gets have a lot more going on. You don't tend to move around quite so much in summer compared to winter so location is more important imo.
