Just put some new Michelin Wild Enduro's on the Mega.
Front is fine, but the rear seems really porous.

This is the second set I've had and not had any issues before.

Do I contact Tweeks or Michelin about this?

Thanks

I'd start with Tweeks. That looks a bit rubbish.

I'd just wipe off and top up I think.

If it just doesn't ever stop.... That's another matter.

What are they sold as? Looking at Tweeks website I can't see anything about them being UST.

Did you clean the inside of the tyre first?

Looks like my nobby nics, stops after a while and doesn’t effect their tubeless performance. Some tyres are more porous than others. It wouldn’t bother me unless it was affecting their ability to hold air.

That’s not unusual at all for any tubeless ready tyre in my experience.

Perhaps I've just been lucky then previously on other tyres.

It's on both sides and in several areas.

Might need to top up a bit but should be fine after the first ride.

I’ve found sealant brand affects it.

I generally have no issues with Stans race unless it’s very cold.

I’ve had that on various tyres and overnight with a couple of wipes they’ve all been fine.

I've had this on a few new tyres, I'd only worry if it doesn't stop leaking after a couple rides.

Does anyone else find their tubeless tyres start to do this once they get older too?

All tyres will be porous to an extent, leave for a few hours with the sealant in, sitting horizontal, on a bucket, sorted.

I’m with the view that it’s only a problem if it persists, or if the tyres go flat.

Tubeless ready tyres are porous or can be. Its hit and miss. They need selant to stop the air leaking. Personally I think tubeless ready is a bit rubbish but some brands do it better than others. With some brands tubeless ready is really quite variable.

Just wait a few day and see if it stops. You'll need to top up. If it continues leaking your first port of call is tweeks.

I had this previously with Maxxis Ikons and ended up warrantying a pair of tyres which just wouldn't stop leaking through the sidewalls. I still get mixed results from them, but they tend to settle down after a bit.

As an experiment I've recently painted the inside of one of my tyres with copydex, seems to have solved the problem at least in the short term.

Most of my tubeless tyres do this. Has never struck me as a problem. Wouldn't consider sending them back for this!

Do they lose pressure?

I had a hillbilly that would lose 30psi in a couple of hours, had it replaced by specialized. Sidewalls were blowing bubbles....

They can be sealed by using an inner tube.

All the Maxxis I've had do this with Stans sealant but not straight away - give it 6 months use and they all look like this or just damp on the outside.

So had a new tyre delivered this morning courtesy of Tweeks/Michelin.

Original tyre is still leaking, although at a lesser extent.

I had the same problem with one last year from CRC..... It swollowed a bottle of Stans..... I contacted CRC and they sent me another FOC and told me to dispose of the old tyre.... Tried the old tyre with Conti fluid and sealed up straight away. Cheers CRC.
