Further to an earlier post,  I'm at centre parcs this weekend,  hoping to nip out for a quick ride on Sunday evening,  about 4pm. I'm thinking Keppel/Sticks should be achievable,  but if the weather's iffy then I'll want to be more sensible.

Is there anything I should be looking at from Pooley Bridge? I know descending from cockpit to Howtown, but I think that's a bit short.  Doing Boredale/ullswater might be a bit too far at that time.

I was originally thinking skiddaw/ullock but I think that's pushing it for the time of day and distance to travel and obviously weather dependent as well.

How about adding Ullswater shore path to the cockpit descent, and jumping on the steamer to return?

Ooo.... I like the sound of that!  Last departure from glenridding is 4:40 though.  That would mean setting off way earlier than I can get away with unfortunately.  I must remember to do that some other time though

Is there not decent riding around cross fell?  If so, you could bike from CP....

That's a new direction for me, would need a new OS map. But I don't need much of an excuse to go map shopping! I guess I need a good ride of a couple of hours within about a half hour drive.

If the weather is too bad you're not too far from whinlatter you'd get a blast in of the north and south loops. No navigation required. I know it's not a full on lakes route but needs must!
