Just a poll without any agenda really - but tell us if you have booked a holiday yet to start in the next 12 months.

Tick as many options as necessary.

If you don't know when spring/summer/autumn/winter starts and ends then just guess.

I picked 7+ nights because that's what I typed.

Bit early for me, we usually make plans during Merrineum.

Retired at the end of March. I'm told everyday is a holiday. 🤔

In Ainsa at the moment as the first stop of our trip. 😎

Not yet, only got back from this years holiday on Sunday. We'll be going somewhere in Europe in the summer.

Not sure. Logistics regarding movement of household items is above my pay grade.

I'm currently on my 2025 holiday. So no!

When it does get booked, it'll probably be for Sep 26, somewhere nice and warm, not involving bikes.

Not yet, but after being in Greece a few weeks ago I will be. On top of that my best mate retires in March so we will be travelling in my motorhome.

Can we have a poll of who can see the poll?

It's a thumbs down for me. On a Chromebook.

(perhaps this was the plan all along - test the system - we are all but guinea pigs.)

Nope, still getting over the financial hit of this years (August)! I work for a Holiday company and get a reasonable discount but I still always struggle to plan and get booked in.

Nope, haven't done a holiday for some time now, barring the odd weekend seeing friends. Can't see one happening either for a while.

We've talked about going to Portugal. I'm not particularly bothered cos mostly I find going abroad more stressful than staying in the UK (the airports, the boring tedium of flying, the airports, the transfers. Hate it all), but the partner likes to "travel". I haven't been overseas (except a couple of times to Spain to see my brother) for over 10 years and haven't missed it.

I voted yesterday: I've planned two trips already, but they're both ski trips as we need to go abroad to ski. The accomodation was booked about two months ago, the season passes were bought in March (literally in the car on the way back from the last trip of the 2024 season).

If we go on a cycle trip then we'll plan that much closer to the time

That's me too.

Last 'sun' holiday was in 2001 as we were on Lesbos when 9/11 happened.

Last time on a plane was ten years ago to Paris for our 25th Wedding Anniversary (as honeymoon was in Paris).

Doing Morzine with family in the summer of '26. It was deferred from this year, as i broke my leg.

Missus also wants to do Canada for her 50th, but that wont involve much bikes (which is a shame)

My wife hates flying to go on holiday also. She says all the benefits disappear as soon as she starts the return leg. She is not afraid of flying but as you say it is the tedium.

we have many weeks away each year but it is in a caravan or camper so there is little booking ahead done

We seem to have started leaning towards autumn/early winter for an abroad holiday.

I have to do things fairly short notice though based on whats going off on my sites and pick a time when I can leave the troops to their own devices. Not looking like I'll be going soon, so may be a holiday in the New Year.

No bikes or other sporting activities involved when we do go though, unless it's in the UK, then I might take a bike along

Yeah, we do too. The kinds of places we like to go to are likely too bleedin' hot in the middle of summer, but quite pleasant in the October 1/2 term holiday, (still restricted to school holidays due to partner's job).

Plus there's loads of nice UK places to go in the summer, and it's easier to take the dog with us.

Nothing booked, but seeing as I live in a van it seems a bit much to pay out for accommodation.

Will likely go southern Italy in November and chase the sun in Apulia and Calabria..... maybe the Alps again for the summer......

Decisions, decisions....

Crete was fabulous first couple of weeks in October last year, but apparently we got quite lucky as it was due to turn

Just returned from sunny Bristol.

If you’ve ever wondered where people who live in holiday destinations go on holiday 🙂
