How good is this in knee and elbow pads

I've got the elbow pads. On the evidence of a few stacks, I'd say it's very good indeed. As is the d30 in my RaceFace knee pads. Same concept, different brands.

Very good for both elbows and knees. Very comfortable too in terms of fit but they can get a bit warm...

had a few crashes on the knee pads, no injuries or complaints. Bought because my old raceface ones slid down and I lost all the skin off my knees. POC ones feel like a much more secure fit.

I liked the knee pads but I've stopped using them as the 'dough' but kept analog when I put them through on a gentle wash. If you feel the pad it had data cut in it to allow articulation but in pages three less than. 5 cm of material holding it together

Ruining two pairs was enough at the price they are.

Using fox launch pros, not much warmer similar protection but machine washable without worry.

That makes no sense to me either?

Bloody android slide keyboard (and my failure to read what it did).

There's slots cut in the dough pad things to allow them to bend in use. At some points there's less than 0.5 cm of material holding the dough pad together and it's not enough. They seem prone to snap in the washing machine even on a cold wash.

all the labels on mine specified not machine washing. A cold wash would make the VPD stiffer, they need body heat just to become flexible. I have POC elbows and Ive worn them in 40C heat without them bothering me unduly but that might just be me being tolerant. Ive also had some huge offs with multiple hits where they have done their job. They are sleeker and less bulky than some of the 661 equivalents. I have G-form knees which are mostly brilliant (light, compact, flexible, breathable, washable) except for coming unstitched very quickly and the thin lycra sleeve is prone to damage (eg. holes from flat pedal pins).

I've got Musto d3o pads for sailing.

They are very temperature sensitive, seems like in anything other than cold weather they stay pretty soft, whereas on a cool morning you can feel them stiffen if you try and bend them quickly in your hands. Also not sure if they're losing their 'specialness' with use, they seem much softer now after a few months, although that could be the warmer weather, and the fact they get a much harder time on the boat than any of my MTB pads ever do.

Well they definitely do with temperature, d3o even sell the pads for different temperature ranges.
