Mrs B has a gravel bike with 140mm discs front and rear. They fit directly to the frame and forks without any adapters. She has recently bought some Hope rx4 calipers for it.
She now wishes to use 160mm discs on the bike.
So, will any +20mm adapter work? Could she use an adapter that is labelled for 160-180mm? She has bought some Hope discs, so is there a specific adapter to use?
Thanks
Ian

You can use pretty much any adapter +20mm adapter. Some of the cheaper ones can be a little bulky and end up fouling something on the frame or caliper if you are very unlucky (it was more common with IS adapters). I prefer the shimano adapter that bolts to the frame, then the caliper bolts to the bracket with different bolts, rather than the ones that just space the caliper off and use longer bolts, but they all work.

Having 'been there done that' I would strongly suggest buying Hope brake adaptors for Hope RX4 brakes - there are a number of compatability issues with lots of other brands mounts and RX4 calipers.

I would defo go with Hope adapters.

Had issue with E4s on my forks and frame. Only Hope adapters were placing caliper as it should be without colliding with frame or caliper itself.

Unless you are OK with some filing jobbie on the cheapo one...

Cheers!
I.
