You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Having ridden my Marin Pine Mountain rigid on 3" tyres and become rather addicted to their tubby traction...it's time to go full suss 27.5+.
..so what would the singletrack collective do...?
In the spirit of recommend what you have, I have a Stumpjumper Expert 6fattie, its Awesome!
What sort of places are you going to be riding? The stumpy is quite a lot of bike, and the low BB can get in the way sometimes on tech climbs.
Guy I ride with has the stumpy but had fork extended to 160mm to raise BB a bit and slacken things off.
The Scott ones look good and get good write ups - I'd probably go for one of theirs.
I've got a 26er Cotic Rocket which is running 26plus so 2.75 Dirt Wizards on 50mm Rabbit Hole rims, original 26 fox avalanche vans fork, its a plush fun beast but weighs as much as a small planet even in singlespeed guise. But its muchos fun.
Singlespeed Plus Steel Full Suspension - all of the niches are yourz.
That said, this looks like an insane amount of fun
I ride in the peak district..I'm not too Gnaar these days but there are plenty of rocky decents for it to mop up!
Mud clearance is a key point, and ease of replacing bearings...peak district winters and summers 😉 = gloopy flith.
The only full suspension plus bikes I've ridden so far is the Cotic flaremax.
I'd have bought one if the seat tube on the large was a bit shorter.
Anyone with Scott genuis thoughts?
