Hello,

I've just picked myself up a 27.5 Plus bike with 3" tires. Which is just an absolute scream to ride. It's just a shame it's done nothing but rain since I got it!

I am now having problems finding a rack to fit on my tow ball that will take the bike.

I am looking for a rack that can take 3 bikes, including my wife's ebike.

I've got a thule ride on at the moment that I have managed to bodge to take wider tires but it wont take the eBike because the motor gets in the ways and it too heavy for it anyway.

Thule and buzzracks do two bike carriers that would fit both the plus bike and ebike but that leaves us a bike short!

Has anyone managed to bodge one of the bigger Thule racks like the Euro classic to take 3" tires?

Any other ideas? HELP!

Most bodges seem to involve a bit of drainpipe cut in half and ziptied to the existing rack.

Failing that, Aiston does Fat bike sized wheel hoops, so if you ask for 3" hoops I'm sure he would oblige. Flange mounted only though.

out of curiosity, what's the problem on the Thule towbar racks- is it insufficient space or are the channels too narrow?
I've not tried my 29+ on the rear rack, but it fits fine on my Thule 591 on the roof- straps are long enough, and I thought the plastic channel bits were common across the range?

On the Ride On the wheel cups are two small and straps are too short. It was a fairly easy bodge on the Ride on as the wheel cups can be removed and replaced with something I made out of wood and all I needed was some longer straps.

the other models from Thule look like they are more integrated or are one long channel so may not be that simple. I am hoping that the Euro Classic can just be bodged with a longer strap...

Just get some roofrack straps and cut them down. They're likely to be a lot more secure than the plastic straps as well.

I just dumped my Krampus on to a bog standard Thule 591.

I just used some extra webbing straps to hold the wheels in place. Never had any issues.
