Hi all - I've just bought a Pinnacle Arkose 3 and want to fit a rack to it - I got a Tortec Tour rack at the same time. Just want to check I'm going to fit it to the correct holes - i've also got some mud guards to fit.

So... is it the inner bolt holes or the outer bolt holes... If it's the inners, will that hit the disc?

Outer holes for a rack.

Does it actually matter or is it a 'it's always done this way' thing?

Nope, if it fits, it's fine, inside or out. However, there's typically more space outside.

Hmmm, I've got to fit both guards and rack on. Specifically bought the bike as it has full mounts.... I'll be very annoyed if they don't actually fit both!

I fitted both rack and fender to the same mounts on my Tripster.

Outside is probably best for hanging panniers on it. Otherwise they won't sit flat against the rack legs.

Do you have the 2017 - the previous years seem to have mounts on the outside. Too dark to try fitting it now, from holding the bolts up it's going to be *tight*...

Mudguards inside, rack outside. That way with the twist of four bolts, the rack can come off quickly. Did that on my Paddy Wagon for road riding for a winter.
