Anyone know the history and sources of their, and On One, Ti bikes? I have a early 2014 Pickenflick that seems to be different to most others about as it has less rear tyre clearance than is often quoted. Just wondering who made it?
Bloody typical. Just giving it wash to put into summer spec and I find a crack on the chain stay behind the bridge. Who is the "go to" repairer for Ti nowadays?
Sorry to hear it! It's why I never wash my bikes!
Enigma did a very clean repair for me a few years ago, I'm not sure if they still do repairs however.
Vernon Barker does repairs in Ti, I looked into him when I was looking to get my frame repaired and most reviews said the repair looked solid but not very neat.

Read your intial post and was going to congratulate you on getting 10 years from a Planet X ti frame without it cracking, then you followed up with this. I got <3 years from my ti Planet X frame before I found a crack...
Manufacturing of Planet X frames did move around for a while. I'm pretty sure that some came from Van Nicholas at one point.
If you're near Matlock, Racefit Exhausts fixed my other half's ti gravel bike after it cracked. Not overly pretty, but its lasted 5+ years so far.

No idea where my On-One ti cx frame from ~2003 came from but it went in a skip when it cracked
Some of them are Waltly
Wish I hadn’t read this.
I have a 12 year old Planet X Van Nick singlespeed as my winter bike. It’s always muddy.
I dare not clean it now!
So much for Ti being for life!
