Looking to purchase a Planet X Tempest but despite trawling the web and this site I am still not 100% sure what size to get.
I am 5ft 10 and in between a medium and large. I have a Pinnacle Arkose D3 in Medium which is a good fit.
Any advice / personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
I'm the same height as you and went for a medium Tempest. I nearly ordered a large based on the size-guide, but glad I stuck with the medium as its a perfect fit for me.
I'm 5'11 and ride a large Tempest v3, though did drop the stem from the standard 100mm to a 90mm. Previous bike was an large Pinnacle Arkose, which was the v2 frameset that ran from around 2017 to 2020(ish) until the Arkose range got split into D (dirt) and R (road) sub-ranges. I think I'd feel awfully cramped on a medium...
5'9 and a bit here and went for large, perfect for me. I have had medium PX biles before and they feel tiny to me.
This was the thread I posted asking the same question as you.

5'11" on a size Large with 100mm stem. Perfect for my average proportioned frame.
Just to confuse you even more
Im 5ft 10in tall and on a meduim and it fits perfect for me
Thanks for the replies. I guess its all down to personal preference.
5' 9" and a bit here and on a Medium which is perfect for me. Maybe it depends on your leg/arm/torso length? Any way of trying one first? I'm in E. Lancs if that helps.
6’1” and generally find size up on PX frames. Xl on a London Road and also the Tempest. Both feel perfect.
If you ride a lot of road then go for Large. If you’ll be using it for CX or proper off road then maybe a medium. But recon you’ll find it cramped or not get a proper bike fit in medium.
Not direct experience but I recently got a Dolan GXT large and it had to go back for exchange to medium. Standover height was waay too high and geometry looks similar to Tempest.
I'm 5'11" and pretty standard on sizing, this is the 'smallest' frame I have ever needed
I'm 6'2" & had an xl with a 90mm stem. I also have a 58CM tarmac & the tempest always felt a little long, hence the 90mm stem. I wish I had bought a L and fitted a longer stem instead.
