Just looking for a new winter road bike. Presently have a kinesis T2 but like the look of the Planet X Hurricane and also the Tempest. Just thinking the Tempest has more relaxed geometry and could also be used as a spare bike for the 3 peaks cyclocross etc.
Would be generally used as a winter road bike but also for things like Flanders and PR sportives and also a bit of touring.
Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.

That’s basically what mine has been used as.
Fitted a set of SKS full guards and some 40mm tyres.
It’s certainly comfy to ride and I’ve happily ridden it in groups with ‘proper’ road bikes without feeling negatively impacted by the geometry or gearing (1x 11).
The discs are great for stopping in rubbish wet weather and the fatter tyres are handy in gravel strewn, mucky, potholed lanes.

Mines running 32mm GP5000 tubeless at the moment and it’s not to bad as a summer road bike.
Holding just under 19mph averages on the local 20 mile loop.
And that’s with fixed mudguards and a pannier rack. 2x11 R8000 with a GRX mech though.

So yes in answer to your question.

Was thinking of using mine for winter riding after I carried on riding my summer/only bike at the time right through the winter and had just about everything seize up on it.
Just need to get some mudguards sorted for it.
I’ve been riding mine on the road for a couple of weeks while I’ve been fettling the road bike and it’s about 1mph slower on average.
