I'm just looking at buying a few bits to finish my build on my RT57, but can't for the life of me decide how much cable outer I need as I can't work out where the outer starts and finishes.

Are the front and rear mech outers the full length of the down tube? I've even given a small bag of what look like cable stops but the metal ones are to big for a piece of shimano outer I have lying around but to small with a ferrule. The two long black ones fit perfectly with a ferrule but don't fit down into the frame. Pictures of them below

I haven't got any gear cables to play about with so if anyone's done one it would be a great help.

front and rear gear cables just go to the stops on the down tube so not full outer, i have full outer on the rear brake running through the frame, i dont have nay bits that look like those but they may be to run the rear brake outer through (are they fully hollow) do they fit into the holes in top tube where outer goes in and comes out?

Down tube has no stops on the outside of mine. They seem to have changed the routing.

The long black ones fit into the holes on the down tube and stop at the lip on them. The cable outer fits perfectly into these with a ferrel. So the cable would then be all the way down to the bb.

The bb looks like this

So the cable needs to be just the inner wire by this point. The silver ones fit into the two holes at the bottom of the down tube but if you use the black ones at the top I can see what holds them in place. Also the outer is a loose fit in the silver ones and with a ferrel they are to small. Hope that makes sense.

I am in the pub but can I get back to you on this.

It's all inner cable with stoppers. But you may be missing one.

The two rivnuts in the picture are for a short-mount Di2 battery, like this:

I know this as I have a Dura Ace groupset with short mount for sale 😀

Wondered if that's what the holes were for.
