Anyone tried one of the planet x magma jersey / jacket things. I've recently realised that a castelli gabba type thing would be quite good for commuting in during the winter - however I don't want to spend 90 quid on one.
The planetx magama jacket seems to be their copy of the gabba - anyone got one? How do they size up? What do you wear underneath it (anything?)?
I tend to get quite hot riding and hate riding in a jacket, so if it's just a close fitting normal jacket, then i'll probably skip it.
I have one and use it mostly for commuting, I like it a lot.
It's fit snug, proper racey fit so think about sizing up.
It's not really a jacket, more a heavy weight jersey. It's not waterproof but certainly shrugs a bit of rain off without issue.
Underneath I only wear a base layer, thickness varying depending on the weather. Occasionally I'll throw a gilet over the top if needed
Have a look at the Polaris AM Enduro jacket too if you're after something more jacket-like, not too expensive and decent quality.
